When to get advice

It’s important that if you have been charged, that you speak to us before you speak to the police. The police can require you to provide your legal name, date of birth and address, but you are not required and should not answer any further questions.

What areas do you work in?

Our lawyers work exclusively in criminal law. We have represented clients from low level traffic offences up to drug trafficking and murder. If you have been charged with a criminal offence we can help.

Should I speak to the complainant?

You should not make any attempts to contact the complainant. If the complainant reaches out you should not answer their calls.

What states do you work in?

We are based in Queensland but regularly appear for clients all over Australia, including the Northern Territory, New South Wales, Western Australia and the A.C.T.

What information do you need from me in order to get started?

If you have been charged, it’s important that you bring along any documents provided to you by the police, if you have been charged and are due to appear in court, you will usually have been provided a copy of your QP9.

I’ve been served a warrant at 2 am, can you help?

With more than five decades of experience working in the all Courts in Queensland, John specialises in Crime, Wills & Estates, Succession Planning and Commercial Conveyancing. In his spare time, John likes to go fishing, reading, watching movies and spending time with his family and friends.

John Gould is the Special Counsel Criminal Lawyer for the firm. Through his nearly 55 years of experience, John has become highly skilled in crime, commercial law matters and wills and estates After working as an officer of the Magistrates Court of Queensland rising to the position of Clerk of the Court and Acting Magistrate.

 
John was admitted as a Legal Practitioner to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1986 and New South Wales in 1993 and as a Legal Practitioner to the High Court of Australia in 2002. John worked in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

John enjoys working with people and helping them resolve their legal issues. He spends time listening to each of his clients and she customises his services to fit their individual needs. His exceptional skills and compassion have garnered him many loyal clients, who value him as both a lawyer and as a trusted confidant.
